Dutailier Modern Grande Glider - Espresso & Velvet Beige

The return process was EASY!! so far....

I surprised my wife with this chair for when she came back from the hospital and it was a huge success! So I am like all the others who spend countless hours of research to ensure that I am buying the best product. This chair has exceeded my expectations. I love the design and appearance of this chair--it looks way better in person that it does online. Also, the extra width is a must! I worried that it would be too big but that is not an issue at all. I actually called a dutailier retailer in CA and asked the question about the grand seating and they said that it is never a problem. It actually isn't even that big. To me it feels normal. I read reviews about not being able to feed in the chair because the arm rests are so far apart but in my limited experience, it isn't a problem. The cushion is extremely soft but yet firm which is how it should be, the arm rests are super soft but firm and again the wood design and cushions look great together. My wife loves this chair as do I and I truly feel that this is the best chair out there for the money. In my opinion, this is an item that you don't go cheap on. My sister has both a dutailier and a cheaper glider and told me that she doesn't even use the cheaper one anymore because it squeaks and wakes her kids up. She has had her dutailier for years and made sure that I went with dutailier because it's simply the best. The reclining and rocking features work perfectly. Oh one other note, the fabric is micro fiber. I was confused because it doesn't say that on the online description but I am almost positive that it is microfiber. It cleans really well. Again, we are very pleased with this purchase and expect to have it for many years down the road.

We chose this chair based on an extensive online search followed by confirmatory in-store testing, and are very pleased with our purchase. For reference, we have the multiposition & reclining options with an ottoman.

We selected this chair because after it's use while nursing, it is wide enough to sit with a toddler for reading bedtime stories, and will later make a lovely piece of living room furniture.

The assembly was easy & straightforward.

The chair looks & feels very well made- from the beautiful wood finish to the soft and comfortable upholstery. Judging from the chairs we tried in stores, you really get what you pay for with gliders from various companies, especially in the gliding motion and the cushion foam. We also noticed that the ottoman was most important for comfort while reclining.

We have no critical comments yet, but we have only had the chair a week.

Service and delivery comments:

The chair arrived quickly and in excellent condition. We live in a 5th floor walkup in Manhattan, so had to open the box outside and carry the pieces up individually. As a one-time thing we didn't overly mind, but be prepared to receive an enormous box!
